The construction of thematic zones refers to the tasks of objects spatial modeling in GIS, namely operations to determine the geometry of objects. The method of formation of geospatial data of thematic zones by GIS tools is considered on an example of restrictions zones. Restriction zones are preferably established as a certain buffer zone of normatively defined dimensions relative to the boundaries of the territory or structural lines of artificial structures of regime-forming objects (RO). To implement the automated construction of restricted zones in the geoinformation model of the master plan developed:formalized database of normative data (BND) of planning restrictions on the basis of normative-legal documents, technical regulations, etc. concerning requirements to establishment of zones of restrictions around RO; library of applied PL / pgSQL-functions, which implements automation of the process of creating, saving, removing restriction zones in the GDB.
